I’m proud to announce that Austin Chile Company can now be found at your local Specs in Austin, Texas. If you haven’t heard of Specs then you probably don’t live in Austin or Houston. We want to thank Specs and all the people that helped make this happen for us. This is a big deal for us.  We will be the Brodie Lane location, 4960 West HWY 290, Austin, this Saturday from noon-3pm and Tuesday night for a wine tasting event. Come by and say hello to us. Hey guys, Well Thanksgiving is just a few days away. Do you have salsa for your party? We have alot to be thankful for this year at Austin Chile. First, we just got a big account with a local store and they will be carrying our products. I can’t say who it is just yet until the jars are actually on the shelf but we are so excited about it. Of course we’re thankful for our families and roofs over our heads, etc. But can they really compare to having your product on the shelf? Kidding of course. The holidays can be stressful but it’s important to enjoy the time that you have with loved ones. Each year I wonder which person at the table won’t be eating turkey next year. I guess this happens as you get older, not that I’m really old but still. In the next few days, we have to shop for all the fixins and we still haven’t acquired a turkey. Geez..lots of work to get fat. Someone was telling me that people add 650 calories a day to their diet during the holidays. That’s about a pound a week. Thank goodness that salsa doesn’t have many calories..hint..hint. Talk to you soon.

It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is only a few weeks away.  We had our first big ad come out in the Austin Monthly recently. If you get a chance check it out. Our ad is the one at the very back of the magazine. In time, we’ll crawl our way to the front. Life is all about the crawl. Our philosophy is a little progress every day. I know it’s a bit strange to get philosophical on a salsa website but this blog is about the company’s progress. Here, you’ll get to read the ups and downs of Austin Chile Company. Right now we are just trying to find our way. Having never been in the food business, you realize how much there is to learn and the huge mountain in front of you. We love our product and now it’s just trying to figure out how to get it to the people.

At the beginning of next month, you can check out our very first magazine ad in the Austin Monthly. This is a big step for us because we will really be out there and more people can find out about our great products.

Welcome to our brand spankin new website. We premiered our company at the Pecan Street Festival in Austin last weekend. Thanks to all of you that enjoyed the sampling and purchased jars from us. We sold out! It was an amazing event for us and we look forward to other events. We have some surprises in store in the next few weeks too so check back for updates. Now it’s back to the kitchen to make more fresh tasting salsa without preservatives. Try to find that in your local store…
